Countryside Stewardship BN11 Hedging

Our Countryside Stewardship hedging options are all UK native hedging species and all meet the BN11 standard for farm hedging. All of the species listed individually below are suitable for any farm and land type and are safe for livestock and grazing animals.

We do also have ready-made mixed native bare root hedging packs and RSPB Approved mixed native hedging packs in fixed quantities of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000. It's important to note however, that whilst generally bird-friendly, not all species within these packs are suitable for areas with grazing animals or livestock. Please call for advice.

There are many advantages to planting native hedges including:

  • Creating strong natural boundaries which can help contain stock
  • Prevention of soil erosion, helping to stabilise land
  • Soak up excess groundwater and aid drainage
  • Act as good windbreaks, protecting crops and livestock
  • Encourage bio-diversity and help prevent species decline
  • Provide food and shelter for wildlife as well as safe travel corridors
  • Preserve our traditional countryside heritage

To find out more contact the sales team on 01257 498795 or Email: [email protected]. We will be happy to provide advice to help you to choose your ideal mix of hedging and offer discounts on large quantity purchases.
