Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance' is a variety of Japanese Sedge grass featuring a dense, tufted habit amd arching leaves which form a mounded tussock. This low and slow-spreading grass has highly attractive deep-green, narrow foliage with a contrasting bright-white margin. Small brown flowers on long spikes emerge in spring/summer but it is the variegated foliage for which this grass is popular.

Carex 'Ice Dance' (sometimes called 'carex grass') is a hardy evergreen ornamental grass that sits best with contrasting planting such as colourful perennials and shrubs. Although it will happily grow in most light conditions, full sun may cause the leaf colour to fade whereas shade actually encourages this grass to take on its strongest colouration, so brightening up darker corners of the garden whilst adding movement and texture.

Carex 'Ice Dance' grows best in moist and fertile well-drained soil. It makes the perfect eye-catching accent or focal point and will look equally good in a container or planted in beds and borders, rockeries or gravel gardens. It can also make an interesting and versatile alternative to traditional ground cover plants when several plants are planted together.
