Ceanothus shrubs, commonly known as Californian Lilacs are a garden favourite with many of us, as we look forward each year to the profusions of stunning blue flowers that adorn the plants from late spring to summer. Varying in size from small to medium sized bushes, each of our varieties is unique but equally pretty and impressive when in full flower!
All the varieties of Ceanothus that we stock are evergreen too, so hold colour all year round with their glossy deep-green leaves. Preferring a sunny and sheltered location, our Ceanothus shrubs vary from compact to bushy as well as spreading shrubs which can even be trained along walls.
Ceanothus when in flower is excellent for pollinators too, drawing in a host of helpful insects to the garden. It is an ideal choice of shrub for cottage or wildlife gardens, but will thrive in any garden given the right conditions.
