Trade Pricing
Our trade pricing is hard to beat - It's important to note that our website features retail prices only. Our trade customer pricing is separate to this and is always at a much lower price to that shown online.
So, how does it work? At present, we don't offer trade customers a flat percentage discount on orders - instead we work on a bespoke quote basis for each individual project and planting requirement. We look to secure the best price for each item you need through our extensive network of suppliers which then allows us to get the highest discounted price for your plants overall.
We can often give larger discounts on certain lines than if applying a flat-rate discount across the board, so it's definitely to the customer's advantage for us to work on a bespoke quotation basis for each project and job.
Total Plant Sourcing
We can source anything that you need - If your planting requirements include plants that aren't from our core range as featured online, we'll use our in-house plant finder service to easily and quickly source them from our extensive horticultural supplier network.
The network has been built up over a number of years and consists of trusted suppliers with excellent reputations and a wide range of high quality products. We now have suppliers throughout the UK and Europe meaning we can offer a large range of core products and we can also source any other plants that you may need.
Ultimately, this means that Hedges Direct can provide a true one-stop-shop facility for plant supply along with up-to-the-minute discounted pricing for market-competitive quotes.
Plant Quality
Unlike traditional wholesale hedging plants, all of our plants are of retail quality. This means that our trade customers get high quality plants but at wholesale prices giving you the best of both worlds.
To ensure the quality of our plants, we regularly visit our growing sites to check on the progress, health and growth of our stock. All of our growers work strictly to the regulations governing the horticultural industry and have many years experience in growing the various species that we sell. This means you can be assured of both good quality and healthy plants as well as confidence in their origins.
Our plants have been seen in numerous RHS garden shows and have appeared on ITV's 'Love Your Garden', BBC's DIY SOS and Channel 4's Dispatches and are regularly used by the landscape, design, leisure, education and building sectors.
Ordering and Quantities
Ordering from Hedges Direct is effectively ordering hedging from the wholesaler. We're proud of our roots and have established a comprehensive network of growers across the UK and in Europe for some of our more unusual stock. Because we supply the domestic market in addition to trade, the business is unique in that it has evolved to accommodate orders of all sizes, meaning that we can cater to small, one-person business with low volume orders or to large commercial projects requiring thousands of plants.
Our trade customers can purchase superb plants in every root type; Cell grown , bare root, pot grown and root ball. All are all available in bulk, at wholesale hedging prices, in sizes from as small as 10cm to 3m in height, as well as our extra tall skyscraping specimens (up to 9m) for distinguished projects.
Field grown, bare roots are young plants that are only planted when they are dormant, from autumn to spring. We lift bare root plants and despatch them during the season but they can be pre-ordered in summer. As they are cheaper to grow, they are one of our most affordable hedge planting options.
Pot Grown
Pot grown plants can be planted year round and make a convenient option. They come in a wide range of sizes, from 10cm to 2.5m so they're suitable for the majority of planting requirements.
Root Ball
Also field grown, root ball plants are scooped out of the ground using machinery to keep their root system intact and wrapped in bio-degradable, hessian sacks. They are mature plants that provide dense coverage very early on, ideal for when you need a thick hedge quickly.
Instant Hedging
Grown in troughs or bags that measure 50cm-1 metre in length and carefully clipped during the growing season. Our instant hegding troughs create a dramatic, instant hedge effect.
