Euonymus japonicus 'Kathy' Hedge Plants Description
Euonymus japonicus Kathy is very popular for all sorts of positions because they provide year round interest and are well suited to all positions (including cold, windy, coastal, exposed) and virtually all soils (all but the wettest). They provide the best variegation when grown in full sun but will also tolerate partial shade. The leaves are broad and oval with dark green centres, fading to light green and then with creamy white margins and white leaf tips, and young leaves generally start with a yellow blotch which fades to cream. Another great Euonymus variety with creamy white margins, is Euonymus Emerald Gaiety.
They will grow to 2m but are very tolerant of clipping so can just as easily be kept at a more moderate height. All parts of the plants are harmful if eaten.
See our ultimate Euonymus hedging guide for more information.
These plants are available all year round.
