Description
Sedum 'Herbstfreude' or Hylotelephium 'Herbstfreude' is a deciduous perennial sedum, with stunning flat flowerheads that can grow up to 20cm across, made up of a multitude of tiny buds. The buds start off pale green-white and open into pretty, pink, star-shaped flowers. The colour deepens dramatically through late summer and autumn before fading to brown in the winter
Grow Sedum 'Herbstfreude' in full sun in moist, well-drained fertile soil. Being fully hardy, you can be assured that this lovely plant will come back each summer to provide its eye-catching blooms.
The flowerheads can be left in place over winter to add an extra dimension to your border. Established plants will benefit from a prune in late May to take one in three stems back to the ground to prevent flopping and parting of the plant.
Sedum 'Herbstfreude' has a maximum height and spread of around 60cm.
