Conference Pear Fruit Tree 125/150cm 10L Pot Pyrus communis 'Conference'

Pyrus communis 'Conference'
The Conference Pear tree is celebrated for its reliable yield of delectable dessert pears. These long, slender fruits, ready for harvest in late September, are characterised by their green russet skin. Inside, the cream-coloured flesh is relatively firm, juicy, and imbued with a sweet rosewater flavour, making it a delightful treat whether eaten fresh or cooked.
This award-winning variety is particularly suited for less favourable northern climates, thanks to its hardy nature and some resistance to diseases. As a dependable cropper, it ensures a bountiful harvest each season. The tree is also adorned with attractive white blossoms in spring, which are highly favoured by pollinating wildlife.
One of the standout features of the Conference Pear tree is its self-fertility, eliminating the need for another pollinator to produce a good crop. This makes it an excellent all-rounder for various growing conditions.
The pears are best known for their versatility; they can be enjoyed as a firm, crisp dessert pear or allowed to ripen fully for a smooth, juicy experience. Harvested from October to November, the fruit can be stored until January. For optimal enjoyment, pick them slightly under-ripe, store in a cool place, and bring indoors to ripen slowly.
As a member of the Pyrus genus, these deciduous trees or shrubs feature oval leaves and fragrant white flowers in the spring, followed by their distinctive green or brown fruits. The Conference Pear tree stands out as a highly esteemed variety, both for its culinary uses and its ornamental beauty in the garden.
