Description

Stipa arundinacea or Pheasant's Tail Grass as it is commonly known, is a narrow-leaved, arching ornamental grass with the green leaves turning red or orange-tinged in summer and through autumn. In late summer it produces reddish-brown flower panicles. This versatile, clump-forming evergreen grass is the perfect border grass, giving lots of airy movement and colour to border planting all year round.

Stipa arundinacea is easy to grow in any soil if well-drained and moist. It will grow best in full or partial sun and in any location. 

The maximum this pretty grass will grow to is 1m high x 1.5m spread.
