Description
Hydrangea paniculata 'Kyushu' is an upright deciduous shrub with a more informal look featuring mid to deep green, semi-glossy leaves. A late flowering hydrangea it produces very slender creamy-white conical flowers with lots of white florets which stand out from the main flower cone creating an attractive airy, fluttery look. The flowers emerge in late summer and last until mid-autumn extending garden flowering time significantly.
Popular with pollinators for the late season food and nectar produced by the flowers, Hydrangea Kyushu makes an ideal addition to beds or borders bringing a stunning floral display, texture and movement. The long blooms, also make very good cut flowers.
Plant Hydrangea Kyushu in a sunny or partially shaded location in moist, well-drained soil except chalky soils. This hardy hydrangea will grow up to 2.5m in height and 1.5m spread although can be trimmed back to keep more compact.
Trim once a year in spring, to remove the old flowerheads and cut back stems to the first pair of healthy buds. Also take out any dead or diseased stems.
Supplied in a 2L pot for planting any time of year.
