Description
Achillea 'Terracotta' is a tall flowering perennial with grey-green feathery foliage and varying shades of deep yellow to terracotta-coloured flowers sitting atop long, upright stems growing in tight clusters forming flattened heads. The flowers fade as the season progresses to a paler cream colour.
This achillea makes a great addition to any garden, small or large, giving height and movement to beds and borders. It has a long flowering time from June through to September. This clump-forming hardy perennial can withstand even the worst winter temperatures and is perfect for more exposed locations. The flowers are also a draw for beneficial pollinators earning them the RHS 'Plants for Pollinators' award.
Plant Achillea 'Terracotta' in full sun in moist but well-drained soil of any type except clay. This perennial grows to a maximum height of 1.5m but a maximum spread of just 50cm and is often slightly smaller to about 1m in height.
Easy to care for, simply prune back the foliage in spring to tidy up and deadheading through the flowering months may encourage further blooms. Worth keeping an eye out for aphids!
