Description
Achillea filipenduliina 'Cloth of Gold' is a variety of Yarrow with gorgeous golden, slightly flattened flower heads made up of tight clusters of bright-yellow flowers. A stunning, tall perennial with attractive green, divided, feathery foliage.
This sunny, low-maintenance perennial is extermely hardy and thrives in a full sun location in an open position. Its bright flowers are a hit with pollinators and its tall stature makes it a standout in any garden. For that reason it has been given both the RHS Award for Garden Merit and Plants for Pollinators making it a very popular variety. It's ideal for the back of beds or borders to give height and structure with a pop of colour all summer long and into autumn.
Achillea 'Cloth of Gold' will do best in moist, well-drained soil of all types except clay. It grows to an average height of 1.8m but can reach 2m+ and has a spread of around 50cm+.
It requires little looking after except to tidy up the foliage in spring. Do watch out for aphids.
