Description
As the name suggests, this is a real winter treasure. Emerging from crimson buds, Sarcococca 'Winter Gem's' small white blooms release a sweet scent in the coldest months, drawing in early bees and brightening up shaded corners. Evergreen leaves stay glossy all year.
Compact and tidy, Sarcococca ‘Winter Gem’ is brilliant in pots or borders. It brings reliable structure, winter interest, and a welcome burst of fragrance when the garden needs it most.
Grow Sarcococca 'Winter Gem' in full sun to partial shade and sheltered from harsh winds. It will thrive in moist, well-drained and fertile soil. Growing at a moderate rate it has a height and spread of 50-70cm tall and 70-90cm wide.
Super low maintenance, this lovely evergreen shrub needs little upkeep — just a gentle prune in spring to keep its shape.
