Description

Spiraea japonica 'Firelight' is a colourful, deciduous, hardy shrub with lots of seasonal interest. Young leaves are red and orange in spring, turning green in summer and purple-red in the autumn. Tight clusters of dusky-pink flowers are borne on short stems to sit proud of the foliage in summer.

This rounded and bushy shrub is tolerant of most soil types preferring moist and well-drained sites. It will thrive in full sun but will also do well in partial shade and can be planted in any location, sheltered or exposed due to its hardiness.

Prune if needed after flowering. If overgrown the plant will tolerate a hard prune to renovate. Generally pest and diease free.
