Description
Spiraea betulifolia 'Thor' is a neat, low-growing shrub with fresh green, birch-like leaves that flush golden-orange, red and purple in autumn. In summer, it’s topped with clusters of small white flowers that attract pollinators.
‘Thor’ or 'Tor' as it is sometimes called, is perfect for low hedging, edging paths or filling gaps at the front of borders. Its neat shape, seasonal colour and wildlife value make it a smart choice for easy-care gardens and mass planting.
Plant in full sun or light shade in well-drained soil. It grows to around 60cm tall and wide on average and is happy in exposed or sheltered sites.
Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and promote fresh growth. A reliable, slow-to-moderate grower that needs little attention.
