Description

Rudbeckia 'Green Wizard' is a dramatic, architectural Rudbeckia that stands out with tall stems, dark black cones and no petals at all — just a ruff of green bracts (sepals) around each cone. Unusual and eye-catching, it’s perfect for adding contrast.

A talking point in any garden, ‘Green Wizard’ adds bold texture and structure to wildlife gardens and mixed borders. Its long-lasting cones are popular with florists for cutting and drying, and pollinators are still drawn to them despite the lack of petals.

Plant in full sun in moist, rich soil and water regularly in dry weather. Rudbeckia 'Green Wizard' prefers a sheltered spot and growth is fairly quick reaching 1.2–1.5m tall and 50–60cm wide.

Low maintenance, it just needs spent stems cutting back in autumn or you can leave them for their striking winter silhouettes.

Supplied in a 9cm pot for planting at any time of the year.
