Description
The statuesque Rudbeckia 'Herbstonne' offers tall stems topped with bright, lemon-yellow petals and a prominent green cone. The flowers nod slightly, giving a natural, airy look above a strong clump of fresh green foliage.
‘Herbstsonne’ brings height, late-summer colour and movement to borders just when many plants are fading. Loved by bees and butterflies, it’s great for wildlife planting and striking in prairie or naturalistic garden designs. It is a double award-winning perennial from the RHS due to its exceptional attributes.
Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, reliably moist soil and provide shelter from strong winds. It reaches up to 1.5–2m in height, with a spread of around 60–80cm. It’s fast growing once established and may need staking in exposed spots.
Deadhead the flowers to prolong flowering and cut back to the base in late autumn after flowering has finished, or leave seed heads for birds and structure through winter.
Supplied in a 9cm pot for planting at any time of the year.
