Flowering hedges are a great way to add colour to your garden and the various species included in this RSPB approved Bird Friendly bundle ensure your hedge has something to offer wildlife in every season. For best results mix the species in your hedge and avoid planting in single species groups. Our RSPB approved hedging bundles have an average growth rate, achieving about 20/40cm of growth a year once established and are ideal for hedges 1-4m high. RSPB approved Flowering Bird-Friendly hedging packs are available from November as bare roots, which can be pre-ordered from mid-summer, and year-round as cell-grown plants. All of our RSPB approved hedging packs have been grown peat free. Pruning Advice
We recommend trimming your hedge in winter during the dormant period. You can also give your Flowering Bird-Friendly hedge a light prune in the summer but be sure to avoid pruning off the berries. Always check for nesting birds before carrying out any maintenance.
