Flowering Cherry 'Accolade' Ornamental Tree 125/150cm 10L Pot Prunus 'Accolade'
In stock
Prunus 'Accolade'
The Flowering Cherry 'Accolade' (Prunus 'Accolade') is a small deciduous tree known for its graceful, spreading habit, making it an ideal choice for smaller gardens. It reaches an estimated height and spread of 6 x 4 metres over 20 years. This ornamental tree is particularly admired for its mid-spring display, when it becomes smothered in semi-double, rose-pink flowers. These blooms, which open from deeper pink buds, can measure up to 4cm in diameter, adding a blousy and exuberant presence to the landscape.
The foliage of Prunus 'Accolade' is mid-green during the growing season, turning a vibrant orange in autumn before falling, adding seasonal interest and colour to the garden. This species is resilient and versatile, thriving in most conditions except the most extreme. It can tolerate pollution, making it a reliable choice for urban areas.
Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, 'Accolade' is one of the most dependable and aesthetically pleasing flowering cherries available. For the best display, it should be planted in full sun, where it will provide year-round interest with its changing leaves and showy springtime blossoms.
