Pruning Advice
Oleaster Limelight should be pruned in Late Summer using secateurs to trim back any long or misplaced shoots.

This hedge plant is ideal for bringing some colour to shady areas due to the splash of yellow and lime green, which develop on the foliage.

Elaeagnus x ebbingei 'Limelight'
Oleaster Limelight is quite fast growing at approx 30-45cm p.a. and should be trimmed to shape in Spring. This evergreen hedging plant performs best in partial shade or sun and is happy in dry soil, seaside gardens and exposed hedging sites. The leaves of Oleaster 'Limelight' have yellow patterning in the centre with a bright lime-green edge, hence their name. This is in contrast to Oleaster 'Gilt Edge' which has leaves which are green in the middle with a yellow or gilded edge. You can find other colourful and variegated leaves in our colourful hedging department.
Like all variants of Eleagnus x ebbingei, Oleaster 'Limelight' has creamy white flowers which appear in Autumn, followed by small orange berries which appear later in spring. We also have a variety of other species in both our hedging with berries and flowering hedging departments.
