Description

Malus, commonly known as Crab Apple, is a highly ornamental tree valued for its spectacular spring blossom and attractive seasonal interest. When trained as a pleached tree, its branches form a structured living panel above a clear stem, creating an elegant screen that adds both beauty and structure to the garden.

In spring, masses of delicate pink or white flowers cover the branches, attracting bees and pollinators. Fresh green foliage follows, forming a dense canopy through summer, often accompanied by small decorative crab apples in autumn that provide colour and wildlife interest.

Pleached Malus trees are ideal for lining pathways, boundaries, or terraces, creating a light, airy screen while maintaining a formal garden appearance.

Supplied as a pleached specimen with 10–12cm girth and approximately 1.8m clear stem height (pot grown), this well-trained tree provides immediate architectural impact.
