Description
Fuchsia magellanica 'Arauco' is an elegant, arching fuchsia with fine foliage and a cascade of unique red, white and purple, tri-coloured tubular blooms. Its airy habit and triple flower colour make it a stylish addition to more natural planting schemes.
‘Arauco’ is hardy, graceful, and perfect for informal borders, wildlife gardens or planting en masse. It flowers for months, attracts pollinators, and brings a touch of movement and lightness to the garden.
Plant this fuchsia in sun or partial shade in a sheltered location. It is easily pleased and not fussy on soil type as long as it is moist and well-drained. This deciduous/semi-evergreen shrub (climate dependent) will grow at a moderate to fast rate to around 1m high and 1m wide.
Prune back to a low framework in early spring and mulch annually to retain moisture and protect the roots.
Supplied in a 9cm pot for planting at any time.
