Description

Deutzia x rosea commonly called Rose Deutzia is a charming compact shrub which blooms from springtime onwards with abundant clusters of pink star-shaped flowers, paler on the inside, on arching stems with lancelike leaves. The fine-textured foliage gradully takes on autumnal hues and golden tones before dropping.

Plant Deutzia rosea in any moist, well-drained soil in either full sun or partial shade. This deciduous shrub is fairly hardy so will be happy in any location except a north-facing one.

Deutzia rosea will grow to a maximum height and spread of around 1m and is slow growing. It's a beautiful little shrub which will look at home anywhere in the garden and is easy to care for only needing deadheading when blooms are spent and thinning of old wood to keep the shrub open to light and air.
