Description
Choisya 'Aztec Pearl' is a very popular variety of Mexican Orange Blossom sought after for its bountiful star-shaped highly fragrant flowers, which are white with a blush of pink. The flowers are produced in spring and sometimes again in late summer/early autumn. This pretty shrub is compact and forms natural mounds as it grows. Its foliage is deep glossy-green with palmate slender, pointed leaves which are also wonderfully aromatic. Choisya 'Aztec Pearl' has a sweet orange-like fragrance and is a prolific flowerer attracting lots of pollinating insects to the nectar-rich flowers which in turn benefits many plants in the garden.
This pretty shrub is easy to grow, tolerant of drought and very low maintenance being slow growing and relatively disease free. It is an ideal shrub for beginners but is an attractive addition to any garden and perfect for low shrub borders, walled borders and container growing. It also lends itself well to low hedging.
Choisya 'Aztec Pearl' is a small-medium shrub growing to an average height and spread of 1.5 to 2m in around 10-20 years. It prefers a sheltered location in fertile well-drained soil and a full sun position where possibl, although it will adapt to partial shade.
