Rubus idaeus 'Autumn Bliss'

Autumn Bliss is renowned as one of the best and most reliable autumn fruiting raspberry varieties, delivering a heavy crop of large, attractive red berries from late August until mid-October. The delicious fruits boast an excellent flavour and firm texture, making them ideal for enjoying fresh from the plant or for freezing to savour at a later date. The sturdy canes of Raspberry ‘Autumn Bliss’ make them perfect for growing in smaller gardens and containers, as they do not require supports for their stems. This excellent British-bred variety also features good resistance to raspberry root rot disease.

This variety is noted for being one of the latest to finish cropping, extending the raspberry season well into autumn. As an autumn fruiting, primocane variety, it produces fruit on the current year's growth, typically cropping from late August through October. This makes it particularly suitable for pots and small garden spaces. Recognised by the RHS Plants for Pollinators and awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, Autumn Bliss raspberry canes provide a reliable late-season harvest. The first fruits appear slowly in August, increasing in abundance through September, and tapering off by mid-October. Depending on the year's weather, growers in the South might even enjoy the last fruits in early November. The large fruits maintain their firm texture after freezing and offer a balanced flavour of sweetness and acidity, though they are less aromatic compared to the best summer fruiting varieties.
