Description
Anemone hupehensis 'Praecox' is a graceful perennial with soft, rose-pink single flowers held high above deep-green, slightly serrated foliage. It begins flowering earlier than most Japanese Anemones, adding late-summer charm from July onwards.
'Praecox' is a long-lasting performer that bridges the gap between summer and autumn. Its airy, upright habit brings movement to the border, and it’s loved by bees. Perfect for softening the back of a mixed border, it will also self-seed for naturalistic planting.
Grow in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, ideally in a sheltered position. Once established, it will reach around 80–100cm tall and spread up to 60cm. It forms a slowly expanding clump and benefits from being mulched annually.
Easy to maintain, you need only cut back stems after flowering in late autumn and then divide clumps every few years to maintain optimal health and flower production.
Supplied in a 9cm pot for planting at any time of the year.
