Hydrangea paniculata 'Bobo' is a lovely compact shrub growing only to around 1m height and spread making it perfect for smaller gardens or container growing. From mid-summer it is covered with clusters of soft-white flowers which become pink blushed later in the season. Its flowers grow in an unusual and eye-catching, broad cone shape that gives a wonderfully unique appearance. In autumn the foliage takes on lovely golden undertones.
This pretty dwarf hydrangea flowers between July and September. The flowers bloom on new stem growth but its stems are very strong and provide excellent support for the large blooms. Hydrangea 'Bobo' is a hardy shrub and will still flower well in exposed areas. Its neat and low structure makes it the perfect shrub for smaller garden borders and for keeping in containers on patios.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Bobo' prefers a sunny or partially shaded position, preferably sheltered from cold, drying winds. It is adaptable to many different soil types but prefers a loamy, non-alkaline soil that is moist but well-drained. Adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil on planting and mixing it well and to a decent depth will help the shrub to thrive. Repeat this annually at the start of the growing season for maximum benefit.
Hydrangea paniculata 'Bobo' should be watered well until established. Its compact growth means less pruning is needed except to tidy up and remove any dead or diseased shoots and leaves. A general prune can be done in late winter early spring before new growth starts upon which it will flower later in the year.

Nominated Day Delivery
Choose a delivery day that suits you with our new Nominated Day Delivery option at checkout. Whilst our standard no signature delivery means you don't need to take time away from other committments to receive your order, we understand that there are times our customers want to make sure they are present to accept delivery, either to plant straight away or to store somewhere safe and out of the way until you're ready to plant.
For an additional fee, you can make sure that your order arrives on the exact day you want it. Please note that this is additional charge to all qualifying orders, including those above the free delivery threshold for Standard Delivery.
Our Nominated Day Delivery is available year-round on the weekdays Tuesdays to Fridays, excluding the day after any bank holiday.
