Trellis Grown Screening Information
In a similar way to how pleached trees are created, Trellis grown screening plants are trained around a frame structure to grow as a flat screen. As the plant grows in a manipulated way, it forms a green screen which can be used to create partitions within an outdoor living space, or to cover up unsightly walls and views of dull grey buildings.
All of our Trellis Grown Screening are container grown, and depending on the size can either trough grown for larger plants, or pot grown for smaller plants. This means that like our container grown hedging plants, trellis grown screening can either be planted out into the ground, or re-potted into decorative pots or planters as a more modular garden screening option.
Species Information
Oleaster is a sturdy evergreen with dark green leaves that have silver speckles and silver coloured underside. Its foliage looks particularly stunning when the wind blows, and the underside of the leaves is exposed. In autumn, subtly fragrant white flowers grow adding unusual autumnal interest to your garden. As spring comes around, small, bright orange fruits appear.
Elaeagnus ebbingei is classified as being an excellent hedging plant for exposed sites so ideal for shady, dry or windy sites. With that in mind, conditions that are not ideal for Elaeagnus ebbingei are cold, wet and high alkaline sites.
