 | Holly - large leafed (Ilex Aquifolium J C Van Tol) J C Van Tol is a lovely species of Holly ideal for inclusion in native mixed hedging to provide some winter colour and food and protection for wildlife. Its large dark green glossy leaves are unlike English Holly in that they are almost spineless and grow on beautiful dark purple stems. Its also self fertile so its a good variety if you're only including one or two hollies into a short hedge (it doesnt need male/female companions for berry production). J C Van Tol Holly produces red berries through autumn and winter. It is shade tolerant and suitable for coastal situations and will grow on any moist, well drained soil. It is quite slow growing so its easy maintenance, trim to shape in late Summer.
Prices shown are the price per plant. Recommended planting densities are shown but this is very much a matter of choice and you can increase or reduce the density depending on your level of patience.
